The man tells the Des Moines Register that, along with some groceries, he took a couple of Bud six-packs and some vodka up to the register at a Walmart in Ames, IA, earlier this month.
But rather than ask the 57-year-old for ID, the cashier carded the teen girl.

People are way too sensitive.I run into so many stupid people that I don't pay them any mind.I would just go elsewhere instead of making a federal case out of it.
Why doesn't our Walmart's sell beer?
This happened to my sister and I at the Wine Rack in Fruitland... She is 22, wanted some wine.. I went into the store with her and they carded me because I was with her. They refused to sell her anything so we went to Cheers instead.
Depends on company policy. I used to work for Royal Farms and if we saw 2 people go to the back of the store for beer, they were both carded at the register. If either were under 21 than it was a no sale. If one left the store, they had to come back and be carded.
If you go to most of the liquor stores around town they have a "Card Everyone" policy, usually posted on the door as you walk in. It's a C.Y.A. thing to keep the store from being liable for people buying alcohol for minors.
