Virginia motorist gets 2 years in pedestrian death

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- A former Henrico County sheriff's deputy has been sentenced to two years in prison in a pedestrian's hit-and-run death.

Media outlets report a Richmond circuit judge sentenced 52-year-old Barry E. Mallory to the maximum 10 years in prison but suspended eight years of that.

Mallory also was ordered Friday to pay $5,000 to cover burial expenses and had his license suspended for a year.

Should have run the person down in OC, then they could have gotten probation, like the woman that ran down the teen and left the scene. Oh, forgot, this one was killed, so they might have got 30 days in jail also.

You or I would have gotten a lot, lot harsher sentence, rest assured of that. This is yet another 'perk' for our out-of-control cops.
This two year sentence for a hit-and-run fatality is a crime in and of itself. The judge is obviously bought and payed for by law enforcement.
