State Keeps Triple-A Bond Rating

Maryland will keep its Triple-A Bond Rating from the three major Wall Street bond rating agencies.

Governor Martin O'Malley says that's a sign Wall Street likes the state's approach to government spending and taxes, which he calls," fiscally responsible."

In a statement, the governor points out that over the last year his administration has cut $9.5-billion in spending, the most of any administration.

All this proves is that the "bond rating" system is a joke!

Off topic but was there a shooting early yesterday evening? I keep hearing there was but nothing is being broadcast or published concerning this.

Watch out, we have a comedian over here. Fiscally responsible? We have taxes that tax taxes, that were taxed when we got taxed, and taxed again.

If that were the case, why have taxes and fees increased to cover spending?

O'Malley is full of more crap than is stashed away in my septic tank as a result of doubling of the 'Flush Tax'. I don't know who he thinks he's fooling, but the rating agencies - they to- are getting rich off of us citizens.

The "cuts" are fuzzy math. The only 'cuts' have been made to proposed increases that were purposefully inflated so that he could claim he 'cut' the budget.
There have been increases in spending each and every year of Owemally/ Brown administration.

The same thing is happening in Wicomico County and the City of Salisbury. Nothing is being cut.

Demand a hiring freeze. Do not fill positions when people quit or retire. There are way to many employees in government and that is where most of the money is being spent.
