"Let me see your log book" and "using your horn illegally"....
When you get caught breaking the law, strong arm the accuser, try to find something - ANYTHING -
using your horn illegally??!" --- to make sure you understand who the law applies to...and who it doesn't.

Sounds to me like someone with higher authority busted that troopers chops. Funny how his tune changed when he got back to the truck. In Maryland public safety officials are allowed to use the phone, but only during business. Not to talk to your partners wife while he is out patrolling also.

I am pretty sure this troopers supervisor got on him because he did a 180 with his attitude. He was to nice when he came back. I wonder if that was a supervisor that came up with the siren blaring during the initial stop.

I am public safety and most cops can be pr**ks. I think many police officers were bullied when they were younger then got a job to have authority and hide behind the badge and gun.

He's a "lawman" so he can do what the f%#@ he wants and then act like he's doing you a favor by not writing you up. It's hard to have any respect for these maniacs anymore. They are becoming a menace to law abiding citizens.

Just drive down Rt. 50 any day of the week, troopers will routinely drive by you at 85 mph.

1:55 I doubt your statement. I am sure the kops are not allowed to be using their phones while driving down the highway. Why do we bother putting radios in their cars if that's the case. I call BS on that one!

85mph is being generous.

I have been behind cops in my car and could not keep up with them once they went over 100mph. I stopped following for my safety. This was 15 years ago and its not gotten any better.

Cops can use their phones while driving. That is a true statement.

1:55 Cell phone law has emergency vehicles exempt. Don't agree just citing the law. When I have a cop speed past me, I get in behind them and follow at a safe distance at the same speed that they are driving.

so I guess one would have to mark the date and time and then get copies of their phone records to prove it wasn't a office call. I still don't believe they can do this while driving. are you telling us they are above the law?

They have to be using it for work related purposes. You pretend to know what you are talking about, but you are just wrong. Quit being a know it all.
