Incident: Assault

Date of Incident: 16 May 2014

Location: 33000 block of Bob Smith Road, Pittsville, MD

Suspect: Jakeup Lee Bowden, 25,Pittsville, MD
                                            
Narrative: On 16 May 2014 at 2:09 PM a deputy arrested Jakeup Bowden in connection with an assault that had been reported on 1 May. In this incident, Bowden allegedly threw a glass bottle at a vehicle next to him at the traffic signal at Walston Switch Rd and Ocean Gateway. The individuals he threw the bottle at followed Bowden to his residence at which point Bowden reportedly brandished a shotgun and began discharging rounds into the air in what Bowden himself would describe as an attempt to scare these subjects away.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the deputy applied for and obtained a warrant for Bowden’s arrest. Upon being taken into custody, Bowden was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Bowden in the Detention Center in lieu of $275,000.00 bond.

Charges: Assault 1st Degree, Assault 2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment and Malicious Destruction of Property

He was at his home and they followed him there. Probably he felt threatened by their presence at his home, as he was outnumbered. Sounds like a case of "stand your ground", if one was to ask me.

I went to school with him from the 3rd grade on and the boy is kinda out there he drinks and does drugs so I'm really not surprised at all
