The American Middle Class Is No Longer the World’s Richest

The American middle class, long the most affluent in the world, has lost that distinction.

While the wealthiest Americans are outpacing many of their global peers, a New York Times analysis shows that across the lower- and middle-income tiers, citizens of other advanced countries have received considerably larger raises over the last three decades.

After-tax middle-class incomes in Canada — substantially behind in 2000 — now appear to be higher than in the United States. The poor in much of Europe earn more than poor Americans.

THIS will be the Obama regime legacy. Barak Obama! The president who destroyed America.
From David Axlerod down to lowly little socialists like Chuck Cook, THEY are responsible for America's decline on the World stage.
The Socialism/Communism they promote is a failed economic model no matter where in the world it is implemented. Hilters Germany, Stalins Soviet Union or Obama's America. IT FAILS!

With federal taxes, state taxes, county taxes, city taxes, federal fees, state fees, county fees, city fees, all the non-profits including churches, there should be no homeless and hungry people in this country. A day of reckoning is coming.

If you read the article, this has been a decline since Reagan cut the taxes on the wealthiest so it could trickle down. How is that working out?
The rich got richer and the middle class got screwed.

8:16 no it was under reagan that the country came out of the recession which lead to the boom we enjoyed during the 90's please educate yourself and stop listening to the main stream media

The high for the middle class was in the 50's and 60's (golden days) when the tax rates for the top 1% were at 70 to 90%.
