White House Proposes A Single Plan Option For Tricare

Three Tricare health insurance plan options for military members and families would go down to just one under the White House budget proposal for the coming fiscal year.

The proposal (.pdf) would combine Tricare Prime with the DoD's two other options, Tricare Standard and Tricare Extra to form a consolidated plan starting in January 2016.

Out of pocket expenses would go up as a result.

Don't forget Obama suggested military pay for health care. Well, this is the beginning.
