The State Department is planning to spend $400,000 to purchase a fiberglass statue of a white camel for a new U.S. embassy being built in Pakistan, BuzzFeed first reported Monday, citing contracting records.
The sculpture, by artist John Baldessari, is of a life-size ablino camel staring upward at the eye of a huge needle.
“A life-size dromedary with its neck extended inquisitively eyes a super-sized needle in a way which makes the viewer think it could actually pass through the needle’s eye,” described Hall Wines, which has a copy of the piece on display. “The colorless beast with striking blue eyes is simultaneously intriguing and peculiar especially when stripped of its pigment and fur.”

If I were elected President, I would kick the UN out of New York to resettle in Geneva. I would close all of our foreign embasseys (really in this age of instant communications - who needs them), I would loan Japan and South Korea a nuke or two and bring our 35,000 troops in Korea and Okinawa home. I would disengage from NATO and let those jellyfish fend for themselves and tell the Muslim world to go to hell. Save us billions - BILLIONS - of dollars and those sand shugsters can get busy killing themselves.
If elected President I would reserve all "foreign aid" to acts of nature in 3rd world countries as none of the others appreciate it when we do help them.
If I were elected President I would institute a 105 TAX on every man and woman in America and eliminate the Departments of Educationm Health and Human Servicesm Homeland Security, and the Department of Commerce.
I would "stack" the Supreme Court with Justices courageous enough to bring prayer back into our schools and government and tell those who oppose it "sorry" - our country was founded on those principles.
I would do a lot of things in damn hurry, too. We would be better off than we are now.
A White Camel?????. think about it people. Isn't this just a microcasm for all the waste and BS in this country. Enough is enough.......I can't stand it any longer. Frustrated in Kilbirnie.
