Local Soldier Coming Home Tonight
A Salisbury soldier will be arriving home from Afganistan tonight at 9:30 in the Salisbury Airport. We sure would like to see a crowd to welcome him home and thank him for his service.

Sorry I couldn't be there tonight. Welcome home, brother.
Sure wish they got in at an earlier hour. I am elderly and cannot drive at night. In fact I'm usually asleep by 10. My heart goes out to the family. WELCOME HOME AND I THANK YOU!!!
There was a nice crowd there. LOTS of first-responders. Delmar VFW. Folks (like us!) who saw the mention here and were able to turn out. I brought three youths from Civil Air Patrol. I picked them up at 9 after they had done 2 1/2 hours including physical training in the cold and wind and they literally JUMPED at the chance to go to the airport and stand around for another half hour to welcome this young man home.
Joel has been a trouble maker on this blog and in the Salisbury Fire Department, but I do commend him for his service.
Just search his name on this blog.

Joel Dixon And Gordy Connection
Dixon drove all the way down to North Carolina for Jeremy Gordy's graduation from a fire academy as seen in the dress uniform picture. Only a close friend would do that.

Happy to hear Joel is back home, safe and sound. We go way back, and I wish I was there to welcome him back.
