Kent County Drug Unit Arrests Three for Heroin Distribution

Dover, DE – The Delaware State Police Kent County Drug Unit have arrested three people after the culmination of a month long investigation into illegal drug sales from a residence on Wayne Drive.

On Thursday March 27, 2014, the Kent County Drug Task Force along with the assistance of the Ken County Governor’s Task Force (GTF) and Delaware State Police Special Operations Response Team (SORT) conducted a search warrant in the unit block of Wayne Drive, Dover. Upon executing the search warrant, Zashonna L. Wayman and Kenneth E. Randolph were taken into custody without incident. Two juvenile children were also in the house and were turned over to relatives at the scene. The search revealed a total of 546 bags of heroin weighing approximately 10.92 grams, two fully loaded 9mm handguns and ammunition, drug paraphernalia, and over $2,800.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Prior to the search warrant, a Mitsubishi Montero was seen leaving the residence. A traffic stop was initiated due to an equipment violation and contact was made with Jermaine D. Brinkley who is known to live at the targeted address. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 3 along with Wayman and Randolph.

The three were charged with the above listed offenses and arraigned at JP2. Kenneth Randolph, who is a Tier 2 medium risk sex offender, was additionally charged with Failure to Re-register his address and was committed to JTVCC on $56,200.00 cash bond. Jermaine Brinkley was committed to JTVCC on $55,200.00 cash bond and Zashonna Wayman was released after posting $45,700.00 secured bond.
