A Salisbury Viewer Writes: Question About The Utility Tree Trimming
I realize that the utility companies hire sub contractors to clear limbs that may disrupt service. I am very happy about that and understand that beauty is not required then doing it, that is not the point of this question. The photo above shows a limb that has been trimmed on both sides of the line and I cannot find an answer to why it has for a number of years been allowed to weigh on the line. I have been told over the phone that the subcontractors work to their instructions and they have done fine in front of my house. Is there a reason I can't see why it is left there and does anyone have a chainsaw with an extension I could borrow for about 30 mins? Thanks and as always I send you and the family the best.

That is lazyness and rediculious.
The power company is probably the ones who paid to remove the limbs this limb however is on the phone line.
Well actually I do agree - it is
"laziness and ridiculous".
subcontractors are not permitted to cut any limbs coming in contact with the line. They do not have the proper equipment to prevent grounding, so thus shocking themselves.
Because they are working for a certain utility company for instance Delmarva Power. Their job is to clear the limbs away from the Delmarva power utility lines. Not Comcast's or Verizon or whoever else has lines on that poll.
Call DNR Forest Service !
Um, the other portion is the responsibility of the homeowner or property owner. Just a head's up there.
ALL of you have failed the reading comprehension test.
THEY trimmed the limb and left it there. That does not make it anyones problem other than the subcontractor that did the shoddy work, not the home owner, not verizon, not comcast.
Had the limb NOT been cut, it would not be there.
On par for the work ethic here in smallsbury.
