WATCH, GRAPHIC – Idaho Police Officer Kills Father’s Service Dog At His Kid’s Bday Party

Excerpted from THE BLAZE: As a 9-year-old boy’s birthday party was winding down at an Idaho home on Saturday, a police officer fatally shot a service dog belonging to the boy’s father.

At around 5:30 p.m., the officer was responded to complaints of dogs on the loose, which is what he found when he arrived.

Officer Tarek Hassani, of the Filer Police Department, is seen on footage captured by his vehicle’s dashcam kicking and yelling at the barking dogs as he attempted to make his way to the front door. When one of the dogs attempted to move around him, the officer shot the 7-year-old black labrador, named “Hooch,” at point-blank range.

Not only was that a bad shoot, he never tried for a coupe de gras to end the suffering. He just watched the dog whine and writhe.

Bad 100%

He had a phone number to the house. The owner could have been called to rein in his dogs. There are twenty better ways to handle this situation.

shouldn't have been on the loose.....

Just another slice of bacon on a killing spree. Does he go around town killing every loose dog? I can bet you this is not the first time. There are better ways to handle such a situation. He already knew the dogs lived there, so they were not strays. Dogs bark.

This one should be extra crispy, just the way I like it.

A neighbors pit bull got loose, came in my yard and barked at me, I gave her a milkbone, rubber her belly and took her home. I didn't feel I needed to kill her.

The next shot fired would have been from inside the house….

Yea told you this wasn't his first killing. He was afraid, seems to be afraid a lot.
August 2010
BOISE (AP) - Prosecutors have cleared a police officer in the May 29 shooting of a Twin Falls County man.

In a statement Thursday, the Ada County prosecutor's office says a Filer police officer Tarek Hassani will not face charges in the shooting of Markcus May, of Buhl.

Prosecutors say police responded to reports a man had been shot at a Buhl residence three months ago. May was identified as the shooter and fled the home with a gun, leading police on a high-speed chase.

Prosecutors say Hassani approached the vehicle after it was stopped, firing his weapon because he feared May would try to hit him with the car. The bullet remains lodged in May's head.

May faces charges of aggravated battery, assault, burglary and attempting to elude a police officer.

We, as a nation, really need to take a long hard look at the current training procedures of law enforcement. In view of the innumerable barbaric acts upon innocent citizens it's time to tell Congress, or whoever, "it's killing us". And, we want it changed.

Why do people hate the police. Ohhhh whyyyy!!!!!

Suck it cops. You are wortheless thugs. Huge cry babies. Cowards. Hipocrites. etc. etc.

Lots of bad publicity these days. But this one was okay because he felt threatened. Or maybe you don't send the sissy to deal with the dogs.

Police have a tough job at times; most of us don't want their jobs. When they meet and exceed our expectations we're grateful for their efforts.

That said, there is entirely too much trigger happy policing in too many situations in too many locales. The documentation continues to accrue.

We need a section at Arlington, with all respect to our deceased military, for civilians who lose their lives here at home when they are innocently cut down by LEOs, whether they were defending themselves or slain without that opportunity. Not for the perps; the innocent.

What I cannot understand is why the animal rights activists are not all over these shootings. If ever there was a case for animal cruelty I've just seen it.

Michael Vick has been training the police since his release from prison.
