The Richmond, Va.-based company said it has filed with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management to be among the bidders for the nearly 80,000 acres off the coast of Maryland.
An auction date hasn’t been set but is expected to take place this year. The area will be auctioned in two separate leases.

Well, I guess Maryland has sold a "Lease" of unowned by Maryland" water to another state who has a pipe dream that pumping electricity through 10 miles of salt water is somehow a profitable thing while dodging the bird kill people is a good thing. Are the people of OC idiots? Is this a good thing mayor rick? The $$ is flowing from the gov to build this technology? Then when the money runs out, they go under,what then? Oh yes, the OC and the Gov then become the new owners, they train and hire the employees, they charge surcharges to the end user taxpayer who has already funded this experiment.
