January 2014: School Calendar Reminders

-Jan. 6-17: Maryland High School Assessment administration window, for students who have previously taken and not passed one or more of the HSAs

-Jan. 13-Feb. 21: ACCESS for ELL English Language Proficiency Test, for K-12 ELL students

-Jan. 20: Schools and Central Office closed for the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Educational activities will be offered at the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in the morning, and a banquet will be held that evening.

-Jan. 22: End of 2nd marking period

-Jan. 22: Evening High School Commencement, 7 p.m., Prince Street Elementary

-Jan. 24: Professional Day, schools closed for students

-Jan. 31: Report cards for 2nd marking period distributed

Anybody know what the schools are doing tomorrow about closing for the wind chills?

Really? Wind chills? Dress kids properly and send them to school.

...or let them get frost bite while standing at bus stops because their school bus slid in a ditch on back icy roads from today's rain, just a thought.

So, I guess they keep taking the tests over and over until they pass so the school gets a good grade?

Sounds right to me, if your goal is failure to educate.
