As a parent to a 3 year old daughter, a 6 month old son, and a 7 year old Siberian Husky, this great infographic from Edgar Snyder really hits home about child/dog safety.
While walking our dog at the park, it’s not uncommon for a well meaning, but overly excited child to run up to our husky to hug or pet her . Although she is great with children, the reality is you never know how a dog will react around when they feel threatened by a child behaving inappropriately around them.
If you are a parent to a young child, or your dog is ever around young children, this information is a must read. Please share with your friends and family as well!

If the last one doesn't work, open up with your 44 mag. That trains 'em.
Sarc off, LOL. Relax & laugh!
My general rule is that both dogs and children should be on leashes.
I had a little boy run to my car the other day to pet my dog. His mother was running behind him screaming at the top of her lungs "Harry, how many times have I told you to never go up to strange dogs" while pushing her shopping cart. By then Little Harry was attempting to push his hand in the cracked window to give the dog a pet. Luckily my dog loves children (he's suspicious of adults though.) He is a Great Pyrenees and that breed typically loves children.
According to the CDC which tracks dog attacks, a Great Pyr hasn't bitten a child since the early 1980's.
