All 3 Branches Of Government Say Mass Spying On Americans Is Unnecessary

Officials in the legislative, judicial and executive branches of government all say that the mass surveillance on Americans’ “metadata” is unnecessary:

- 3 Senators with top secret clearance “have reviewed this surveillance extensively and have seen no evidence that the bulk collection of Americans’ phone records has provided any intelligence of valuethat could not have been gathered through less intrusive means”

- As does the official panel created by President Obama to review NSA spying, made up of top former White House officials and other government insiders, including the head of counter-terrorism under Clinton and Bush

- As does former president Clinton (and apparently Carter, as well)

- As do the chairs of the 9/11 Commission which was created by Congress and the White House

- As does a federal judge (and see this)

The surveillance isn't for their benefit. But yet the government wants to continue it. Just goes to show that there is a shadow government behind the scenes.

They don't need to spy on citizens. A member of the FBI tried to get his supervisors to allow resources to investigate those Saudi Nationals that had been taking flying lessons but didn't want to focus on landing the plane. They were part of what brought the twin towers down on 9/11.

The eves dropping didn't pick up on the Boston Marathon bombers, and again, authorities didn't investigate the Intel given to America from the Russians about the two brothers they considered terrorists.

They need to investigate why nothing gets done when current intelligence is passed on to the upper echelon in the country's security, and gets buried in bureaucracy.

Unfortunately, this is politics. How many remember the discussion related to Pelosi being briefed on water boarding and then denying she ever heard of it.

Let NSA do its job and focus on some of the political appointees whose focus is on political points rather than the safety of our statesman, soldiers, and the citizens. If you like the bullets that just went through your gut, you can keep them.
