They said he was “unelectable.” The RNC put only $3 million into this race. Ken was outspent by a margin of something between 4:1 and 10:1, if you believe the Associated Press.
The Democrats poured everything into trying to lie to voters and portray Cuccinelli as an extremist — and they barely pulled this one out.
Would another $3 million have swung 50,000 votes? The Republicans, starting with Bill Bolling, who undercut Cuccinelli as unelectable have egg all over their faces.
This was a winnable election. How did we give this away to Terry McAuliffe? Some serious soul-searching should be taking place among the anti-tea-party faction.

They know exactly what they are doing, no more support for the crazies.
Really, really stupid move from some Republican 'leaders'.
Tea Party votes provided the difference in 2010 & 2012 regarding the House of Representatives.
Absent those votes, Republican 'leaders' would have no role and would have been at the tender mercies of Owebama, Reid & Pelosi.
You do not need a vivid imagination to understand how they would have run the Constitution through the shredder without the House to apply the brakes.
Longer term effect may be that fewer quality candidates are willing to run if they get little or no support.
The 'leaders' gave away a statehouse in an important state. Shameful!!
they will never win...Rinos must go.
Ken lost because he is a nut job, McAuliffe is no saint either though. The only one that wins in a two party system are the politicians.

You are wrong goof ball. Third parties don't have a chance in Hell. You clowns are living in La La land. Pick a party and try to make it a better party.
Ken is a nut job. The GOP leadership is too wise. Glad to see the more sensible man in NJ won.
The "libertarian" candidate was backed by Obama bundlers...
