Maryland Health Exchange Releases New Numbers

The Maryland Health Benefits Exchange said Friday so far 2,253 Marylanders have signed up for health insurance under President Barack Obama’s Affordable Care Act.

That’s an increase of about 500 from the previous week.

More than 59,000 Marylanders have created accounts with the state and there have been more than 450,000 visitors to the website.

Creating an account does not mean that they bought a plan. Just because you create an account does not mean that you bought a plan or could afford to. The same goes for the 450,000 who visited the web site. Who can honestly afford any of the choices offered?

Big deal. I created an account for my father (been dead since February) just to see if it could be done. Having an account is meaningless.
