Here is the "price sign" in front of the Exxon station just off the entrance/exit of the mall. Note that the prices of "Regular" and diesel are shown.
The manufacturer of my car states that I should use 91 octane fuel which means I have to drive into the station and up to the pump to determine what 93 octane costs.

Really? Your complaining about that? 91 and 93 octane when I had my truck was right about the same price as diesel. If its your vehicle I am sure you have put gas in the vehicle recently, and have a rough idea how much more premium is than unleaded...

Should have thought about that before you bought a car that requires ridiculous octane petrol.

Too lazy to go up and look at the price? Sounds just lazy to me. Or don't buy gas there...go somewhere that has the price listed. PROBLEM SOLVED
You're gonna have to buy it anyway, and the competition has laready shopped his price and adjusted theirs accordingly, so your chance of getting a deal or being ripped off is generally nil.
In Illinois, one of the stations there inverted their prices on the pump, making regular a premium price, and super @ the low price. So many people just automatically flipped on the "regular" button, the station owner cleaned up for a week; then, of course, he lost all his regular customers after that, and went under.
This guy is gonna love Obamacare....no price displayed before you buy!
My question is why are you still going to Exxon? Remember when gas was $5 per gallon ? At that same time Exxon was reporting (fact not opinion) "record breaking profits" and claiming their costs where forcing higher pump prices. It is beyond me why anyone supports obvious price gouging in a time of economic hardship. In summary....go anywhere else!

Too bad you were forced to purchase a car that requires 91 octa...er, no, wait a minute. You weren't forced to, you made a decision using your individual freedom. Individual freedom is a wonderful thing. Enjoy it, and understand that it comes with consequences; however these consequences are far better than a lack of personal freedom.
Good grief. You know, the prices are almost always .10 cents higher for each higher octane. Give me a break and stop crying. There is no rip off there. It's not false advertising.
