A Tulsa man shot a suspected burglar several times after he found him lurking around in his home on Monday, according to police.
Charles Sweeny told KJRH-TV he went for a walk on Monday prior to the incident. When he returned, he immediately sensed something wasn’t right.
After realizing his top dresser drawer was open, Sweeny said he retrieved his firearm — just moments before he saw a man standing in his bedroom doorway.
The homeowner opened fire, shooting several rounds at the intruder before calling the police.

In Maryland, the victim would be arrested for assault and attempted murder and locked up because the burglar was just standing in the doorway, not holding or pointing a gun or putting the victim's life in danger. Be very careful of the Laws in Maryland! They are only on the books to help the criminals! This move by a Marylander would take away his gun rights and cost him six figures easily, if not prison time.
Oh, unless he had a "no Trespassing" sign posted at his door, which I think is tacky, but necessary.
