ANON 12:15 Take a bushel of corn soak it in whiskey for a while. Then spread it on the ground. After they feed u can take ur choice without firing a shot. This comes from an old hunter that saved money on ammo.
I used to think they were called Canadian geese but the official name is Canada. It kinda sounds funny to say Canada geese and I find myself slipping once in awhile and calling them Canadian geese.
Rats with wings...They're not Canadian. They won't go to Canada! Why SHOULD they? Ignorant people feed them here in Salisbury. So, they don't bother to migrate. AND, they're protected here. AND, people will stop and block traffic to watch them cross the road. Apparently these people forget that these birds have wings and that they can fly!! End of rant.

It's Canada Geese/Goose.

Unfortunately they have become urbanized and are more and more difficult to hunt locally.

Remember, the official name for any bird is its Latin name. So the "real" name for this creature is Branta canadensis
The vast majority of English speaking people call the goosea Canadian Goose. However, its original name was a CANADA Goose.

A flock of Canadas hung out in my pond all day today. My pet geese had a ball swimming with them and dog laid in the sun all day watching the ruckus.
