The Dark Side Of America's Rush Into Prescription Drugs Has Never Been More Obvious

The number of people in America who died from taking prescription pain killers quadrupled between 1999 and 2010, a new report from the Trust for America's Health says.
These fatalities now outnumber deaths from heroin and cocaine combined, that same report found. More than 12 million people said they abused prescription drugs in 2010. The only other drug people abuse more is marijuana, the White House noted in a 2011 report.

In a tiny Kentucky county of 12,000 people, nine people died in a nine-month period by taking pain killers they traveled to Florida to obtain, the Lexington Herald-Leader reported.

"It's epidemic. I don't know what the answer is," coroner Robert J. Powell told the paper.

10:22 If it would be taken seriously, it may change. It is frowned upon to be labeled a heroin or crack user. But a pill head can get funding from a bank, and open a business... where they continue driving, working, etc doped on prescription drugs. And the doctors hand it out like candy. Even if you refuse it.

Same goes for add and adhd drugs. Parents are too lazy to investigate the side effects, and turn their children into zombies. All so they can suck down their wine, head out to the "bar" where they can shake their overaged, weathered selfs for the night. Ignoring the behavior of their child, all so they can have their photo op in metro magazine.

Winner.

Nine people out of 12000 and its an EPIDEMIC?? That's .075% of the population! I'll bet more people died of the flu.....stop with the scary drug "epidemic" stories....they are just whipping up frenzy and alarm so MORE laws can be passed...I heard a teenage girl complaining that she had to be 18 years old (and prove it!) to buy nail polish....ya think we may be going too far with the "we have to protect people!!" mindset?
