State Police Investigating Early Morning Shooting In Selbyville

Location: Unit block of Hosier Street, Selbyville, DE

Date of Occurrence: Tuesday October 1, 2013 at approximately 3:20 a.m.

Victim: 25 year old female

Resume: Selbyville, DE- The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning in Selbyville.

Selbyville Police Department was dispatched to the unit block of Hosier Street after a 9-1-1 call was made from that location about a female that had been shot. Upon arrival, officers located a 25 year old female sitting outside a car in front of the residence with a gunshot wound to her head. The victim was flown by State Police Aviation to Christiana Medical Center where she is currently listed in critical condition.

State Police Homicide Detectives were contacted by Selbyville PD to assume the investigation into this incident. An 18 year old male was taken into custody by Selbyville PD at the scene and transported to Troop 4 in Georgetown where he is currently being held. Detectives are continuing their investigation by conducting interviews and collecting evidence at the crime scene. More information into this incident will be released when it becomes available.
