The Kettle Falls man shot by park rangers at a campground over the weekend had been standing alongside his 9-year-old son when the bullet tore into his torso, family members say.
Few details of the shooting have been disclosed by the National Park Service or investigators with the Washington State Patrol.
The shooting injured Casey Hartinger, 43. It happened after a Saturday night confrontation between rangers and another man who owns a houseboat that was moored at the Kettle River Campground within the Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area.
At least one park ranger boarded the houseboat in response to a noise complaint.

You say that as if it's a bad thing. Here's a newsflash for you: hating cops is a growing trend.
And if you don't know and understand why, you are probably one of the reasons why.
"To serve and protect" now has a new meaning. Our "Police Protectors" are being trained to shoot first and ask questions later. "Guilty until proven innocent" is now the norm. When the riots start (and they will if Ob' continues his destroying America) the police will be ready.
"...the police will be ready."
So will the people. And they better remember the we (the armed citizens) outnumber THEM by MIILIONS. And we are a LOT better at hitting what we shoot at...
I am stocking up and ready to fight. Please ask all Democrats and Obama voters to put a D on their forehead so we will easily pick out the enemy.
