Starting Sunday, Maryland's annual "Shop Maryland Tax Free Week" begins.
Until midnight next Saturday, clothing and shoes priced $100 or less are exempt from the state's 6-percent sales tax, regardless of how many items are purchases at the same time.
Comptroller Peter Franchot says the week is designed to give families a break in their back to school shopping.
