Obama-Holder DOJ Threatens To Sue NC Over New Voter ID Law

North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) just signed a law to safeguard voting rights in the Tar Heel State, and the Obama administration is threatening to sue (again).

North Carolina’s new law requires a person attempting to vote to show a (1) North Carolina driver’s license, (2) U.S. passport, or (3) military ID at the polls to cast their ballot. It also ends same-day voter registration and shortens the period for early voting from 17 days to 10 days.

The law is supported by over 70% of North Carolinians. It is a law that recognizes that everyone has the right not to have their vote canceled by a fraudulent vote, and so states should take measures to safeguard the integrity of the ballot box.

I am astonished that this is even an issue in today's world.

You need an id for boarding planes, buying alcohol or tobacco products, applying for a passport, picking up tickets, opening a bank account, being admitted to the hospital or health center for surgical procedures, and the list goes on and on.

Why on earth would anyone think voting is any less important?

Because if you had to show ID they would not win. I know it, you know it and they know it. Then what would they do? Cry, lie and blame.map

I couldn't believe I had to show my ID the other day to pick up a new box from Comcast.....because I'm the wife and the account is in my husband's name! I made the comment that I had to show my ID to get the box, but not to vote!! She just smiled.

4:09. Comcast wanted to see my I'd when I tried to return mine! I instead made them send a tech to my house to pick it up!

Instead of complaining about the law, why don't they spend some effort and help the people without id's get them? If you truly believe this is an attempt to disenfranchise people (I don't, but can understand the objections), fight back and beat them at their own game. The face is, it's easier to cry and complain than to take action.
