Maj. Nidal Hasan and many of his victims in the Fort Hood shooting seem to want the same thing — his death. But while survivors and relatives of the dead view lethal injection as justice, the Army psychiatrist appears to see it as something else — martyrdom.
As the sentencing phase begins Monday following Hasan's conviction for killing 13 people in the 2009 attack, the conflict has not gone unnoticed.
Autumn Manning, whose husband, Shawn Manning, survived being shot six times, views the death penalty as a double-edged sword. On the one hand, Hasan would get what he deserves. On the other, it also gives him exactly what he wants.

Yes, who cares what he wants. Tax payers do not need to fund his lifestyle for the next 40 years.
It all depends on how the aftermath of his death is handled.If his life can be ridiculed and laughed at by the media,his existence has been meaningless.If the media reflects fear of what could happen if the muslim world was offended by any sort of ridicule,he will be a martyr.
I'm Ok with him being a martyr. We the tax payer should not have to pay one more cent to keep him alive. The sad part is the military has not used the death penalty in many years.

Feed him pork only. He will either eat it or die of starvation. Show him photoshops of him in a casket with his body wrapped in a pig's skin. If he lasts over a month, shoot him with a hollowpoint bullet filled with pork brain. Just so he knows his soul will not be not acceptable to Allah.
Lethal injection is for the lay courts. This is a military one!
