LAW LETS SCHOOL EMPLOYEES CARRY WEAPONS ON CAMPUS
While most states are moving to take guns out of the classroom, South Dakota is headed in the other direction.
As of July 1, South Dakota is the only state in the nation to permit school employees to carry weapons on campus. The law was actually signed several months ago but it didn’t take effect until this week. Obviously there are several districts across the country which have passed similar provisions, but South Dakota is the first to implement such a proposal on a statewide level.
Frankly we don’t see the controversy associated with this law … school employees wishing to carry on campus must first receive permission from the governing district and receive training from local law enforcement.
That makes sense to us … as does the deterrent/ protection this new law will provide against school shootings.

Great! Salisbury will need to do that as well soon.
Really, really dumb idea.
That is the way it should be. To the commenter above, Salisbury(WCBOE) should have done it a long time ago. Salisbury doesn't have schools they are Wicomico County schools. If Salisbury had their own school system it would have been just like Baltimore City and the State would be taking it away from them.

Only a liberal would say that.
LOL! This can only work out well. Some people can't pour water out of a boot. But will carry a gun to leave laying around so some student can get it to shoot somebody.
252, you are assuming that most of us are as stupid as you know yourself to be. There are many folks out there that are excellent at training with and handling firearms, and many are teachers and staff. Some are even NRA instructors! That's the same as teacher FYI.
Meanwhile, learn to piss in the toilet. Your feet will smell better!
