Inmate Charged In Fruitland

DATE & TIME: June 19, 2013INCIDENT: Embezzlement / Theft under $100
LOCATION: City of Fruitland

SUSPECT: Russell H. Johnson

SYNOPSIS: On June 19, 2013 Fruitland Police Detectives were alerted by a local parts distributor that an employee had placed a suspicious parts order. The ensuing investigation revealed evidence that Russell Johnson, who was assigned to the City of Fruitland Shop as part of his Pre-release employment, had ordered an automotive part valued at $18.66 for a vehicle owned by him and not the City of Fruitland. Corrections officials were notified and Johnson was taken into custody and returned to ECI in Westover. A warrant was obtained and has been lodged as a detainer for Johnson while serving his sentence at ECI.
