Yesterday Station 6 Parsonsburg and Station 16 for the rescue truck were dispatched to Old Ocean City Road for a subject trapped under a vehicle. The rescue truck responded as well as Salisbury's Command vehicle with a paid assistant chief in it? Is it necessary for Salisbury's paid assistant chiefs to respond to some other fire departments territory. The dispatch was for a rescue truck and not an assistant chief in an SUV.
you should more look at what the county is paying the volunteer fire departments for ambulance service vs the actual service you recieve. i was told a on duty paid paramedic from the east side of the county left his assigned station yesterday to go play chief officer and the above mentioned call and while there a ambulance call needed als assistance but he couldnt go do his county tax payer funded job because he had to be in charge of the rescue.
