Mumps Outbreaks Reported At College Campuses In Va., Md.

Mumps is a nasty viral infection and there are occasional outbreaks this time of year, even though most people receive childhood immunizations to guard against the condition.

But more than 100 cases have been reported in Virginia, most of them at the University of Richmond.

And more than 70 cases have been reported in Maryland, most at Loyola University in Baltimore.

"It's most common in cases in teenagers, where they're in school, they get exposed to another person who has it," says Dr. Vincent Hayes, an emergency room physician at the Washington Hospital Center.

Are the vaccines not working? I know when my child was in school they had to have the vaccine. He's been out of high school now for 10 years so anyone younger would have also had to have the vaccine. So where are these outbreaks coming from?

The outbreaks come from the vaccines. Nasty stuff and the reason autism is off the charts!

The theory that the MMR vaccine causes autism has been thoroughly debunked by scientific research, yet millions of people won't vaccinate because Jenny McCarthy says vaccines caused her son's autism. These outbreaks are probably happening because parents are relying on "herd immunity" (i.e., everyone else vaccinating) to protect their children, and it failed.
