Troopers Investigate A Reckless Endangering Incident, Bethany Beach


Location: Coastal Highway (SR1) northbound, one mile south of the Indian River Bridge

Date of Occurrence: Friday April 26, 2013 at approximately 11:15 p.m.

Victims:

22 year old female of Georgetown
23 year old male of Lewes

Bethany Beach, DE- The Delaware State Police is investigating an incident in which a large rock was thrown through a car window north of Bethany Beach.

The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. last evening as a 23 year old male was operating his Mazda 626 northbound on Coastal Highway (SR1) approximately one mile south of the Indian River Bridge. In the area of Ocean Ridge Development, a large rock was thrown from an unknown direction through the front windshield striking a 22 year old female passenger in the face. The male victim, who was not injured, was able to safely pull his car over onto the shoulder of the road and come to a stop. The female victim was initially transported by EMS to Beebe Hospital and later transferred to Christiana Medical Center for treatment. Her status is unknown at this time.
