The White House announced Tuesday it was suspending the tours through September 30 as a consequence of the forced spending cuts-known in Washington as the sequester–that began taking effect March 1.
The move quickly sparked controversy, with some Republicans arguing the Obama administration was using the canceled tours as a political ploy to draw up negative reaction from the American public over the cuts.

Why cancel a tour that cost so little if they want budget cuts cut money from the congress's pay check since they are making over 150,000 dollars a year for sitting down and raising their hands. and by cutting it down by just 25,000 on a single person they can keep the tour going on for a year. Now think what would happen if senate and congress pay check got smaller as they give them selves raises each year that they don't need.

Here's another one, how about stop giving financial aid to our enemies and ended the asisine Afghanistan war. I bet that would save enough to get the tours going again.

Due to the bleak economy we are in, I believe the president and Congress should go back to the pay scale of 2000. That would save a great deal of money! No raises, cost of living, or otherwise until the economy improves. Furthermore, the president and Congress should not receive ANY income until a budget is passed!! They should have to pay back their salaries for the past four years that they did not do their job of passing a budget. That would also put a healthy dent in the deficit!
Obama is too busy wining and dining congress with our tax money. Doesn't the White House have their own chef? Why does he have to take them to an fancy restaurant on our dime?
Who cares about freaking White House tours? Maybe Mr. Trump should offer to pay the salaries of the members of the military that are about to suffer furlough days, or to pay the education benefits that military members have been promised as part of a benefit for putting your life on the line for this country.
