12-Year-Old Boy Who Was Victim Of Bullying Attack Dies After Weeks In Hospital

PHILADELPHIA -- A young boy who was the victim of bullying has died, according to his family. Bailey O'Neill, who turned 12 on Saturday, was in a coma after suffering several seizures. His family told NBC10's Katy Zachry that he died at the hospital on Sunday.

Bailey's family says he was jumped by two classmates during recess at Darby Township School last January and suffered a concussion as well as a broken nose as a result. He then began to suffer seizures the next day, forcing doctors to put him into a medically induced coma. Joy Fecanin, the boy's grandmother, told NBC10's Katy Zachry that he had to have a blood transfusion after getting pneumonia.

The "two classmates and their parents" should stand trial for murder. Maybe parents will start getting involved if they know their spawns actions could hurt them?

What a terrible world we live in today. What happen to the days when children respected adults and authority. These kids today have a "you cant touch me" attitude and until parents step up and start discplining their children and teaching them to respect people this is the kind of stuff that will continue. As a mom of a special needs child I am terrifed to send my child to middle and high school because of the bullying. Condolenses to the family of this poor child

I would be in jail for child abuse if not murder myself! This is sad.

This very sad ,no excuse for these actions, prayers are with the family.

The liberal teachers are the problem. They no longer have the balls to jump in a fight to pull kids apart. If they did they would probably be sued by the parents. If teachers were x-military personal this crap would not happen.

murder trial, as adults, no mercy!

4:45 Its not always the teacher's fault. How about when the teachers write a referral for misbehavior, and the kid doesn't get in trouble. When we start suspending these kids for things they do, then things will get better. Kids know nothing will happen and parents dont' care. Sad situation.

Bullying? Or murder?

Where was common sense here? Why did all stand by and let this happen? It is a simple matter of right verses wrong but we are becoming less and less able to recognize it when it is occuring in front of us because we have become afraid.

8:06pm Anyone who helped, would probably get suspended as well. Take note of the news story about the kid who wrestled a gun away from another student, finding himself suspended for possibly saving a life. Unfortunately, "looking the other way" is what the superiors at schools are promoting.

Then it is up to involved parents..if there are any left ...to change the way the schools do business. I know it is difficult and not fun..but it can be done. I've had children in school and when something did not make sense...I challenged them at each and every turn. Common sense eventually prevailed in both cases but it was an uphill fight. This country has let things slide down hill far to long. I'm sorry for superiors at schools (and elder homes) who promote this kind of behavior. I'm sorry the children are learning from it. I'm sorry this country has lost its backbone. I'm happy that we have this blog let us remind ourselves that it was different at one time..and it was a lot safer. Thank you Joe.

Asking questions are truly good thing if you are not understanding something fully, however this piece of writing gives pleasant understanding yet.
