As many of you have received your cookies weeks ago, this office is still waiting for their cookies. The staff contacted the mother and asked why she had charged $5.00 a box when it is actually $4.00 a box, the woman replied, I thought that was your DONATION.
The office still to this day has not received their cookies and will be filing charges against the Mother if they don't arrive by the end of the week.

There is always someone around who will take advantage of anything they can. Like the politicians say, "Never let a good catastrophe go to waste!"
I never participate in these "selling things" fundraisers. Many of these payouts are as low as 10%. I just write a check to the organization for the value of the product, but don't ask for anything in return. It's much more profitable for the group and to be honest, I don't need more cookies, candles, pizza kits, etc.
Dont give money until product is in HAND.
Good policy 12:15. I will only order things if I know the people personally such as friends.
Every troop I've bought cookies from has been COD...if someone tried otherwise, they'd get a big no thanks!
You're better off buying the Keebler cookies for Walmart that are only $2 for twice as many cookies, then writing a check for $1 or $2 a box directly to the LOCAL troop. The GS cookies, the local troop only gets 17% of the money at most and it's not tax deductible.
If you buy the 1/4th the price cookies from Walmart and write a check donation 100% of the check amount is tax deductible and it all goes to the local troop.
With GS Cookies 30% of money goes to the FOR-PROFIT duopoly of bakers, and the bulk of the money goes to the wasteful regional and national troop organizations.
The dynamics of the Girl Scouts has shifted over the years any how. The troops (girls & parents) work their hind ends off to raise money but the council takes the bulk of the money! In my opinion that is a violation of child labor laws! Sad that so many organizations are forgetting the true reason behind the organization. I had my daughter in GS one year and it cost me over $400 yet she never went any where and never had any trips outside of sitting in a room for 1.5 hrs every week...it's a shame and a sham!
actually the bulk of the money stays locally, with troop / service unit 97 and chesepake bay council... yes little brownie bakers does get monies to bake the cookies. It should not have cost anyone $ 400 for a year in girl scouts, and the parent should have contacted council. Some people are just plan nay sayers no matter what. my daughter has learned a lot in the three years with gs and our troop has raised hundreds and hundres of dollars. The fact the business does not mention its name makes this post sound ifffy.... If I had been scamed I would not keep my name in the dark.

Maybe they are embarrassed at getting snookered.
UPDATE: I just got word the mother showed up around 4:00 and mysteriously delivered the cookies AND returned the additional $1.00 per box. Long live Salisbury News.
