A Secret Service dog fell to its death Saturday night in New Orleans while doing a sweep of a multistory parking deck next a hotel where Vice President Joseph R. Biden was speaking.
The dog was working in the Premier Parking garage on Iberville Street adjacent to a Ritz-Carlton where Mr. Biden was hosting a fundraiser for Sen. Mary L. Landrieu. New Orleans police say the dog fell around 6 p.m.
Agents rushed the the Belgian Malinois to a Metairie veterinary hospital in a motorcade, but veterinarians were unable to revive it.

sorry to hear of this loss, the dogs and their trainers are a great assest to the service.
the poor dog probably had enough of bumbling biden.
This is so tragic. My heart goes out to the poor dog and his trainer. How could the handler let something like this happen?
Unbelievable!!! They could care less, I'm sure---just go train another one at tax payers expense.
My heart goes out to everyone involved b/c those animals are like family to their trainers and handlers. I'm certain that everyone is ill.
