He said such leading opponents of gun ownership should begin the process and “lead by example” through repudiation of any of their own firearms as well as the “armed security” they now have.

The piece ignores the greatest factor involved in ANY of their actions -- they know whats best for US, not THEM.. Did Castro eliminate his security guards weapons, even after he forcibly disarmed HIS country? How about Stalin? Maybe Mao? How is Mexico doing as a country where even an EMPTY shell casing can get you 10 YEARS IN PRISON? How's it going in Chicago, land of some of the toughest, most restrictive gun laws in the nation? Hitler took his citizens weapons away , too. OUR politicians (models of integrity, right?) are NO DIFFERENT, despite protestations to the opposite. They know whats best and will use the power of the state to protect their control and power. Too many of you are so naive and uneducated that you really BELIEVE that someone else knows how YOUR life should be lead. And that they always have YOUR best interests at heart. Back to my point about you being so naive....
Damn right - start with the Secret Service. A typical presidential motorcade has more concealed firepower than some third-world countries. They should be limited to slingshots and pepper spray; just to show the rest of us how it's done.
