Most of the services of the city duplicate in function those provided by the County. They are so poorly executed that everyone would be better served if the entire City Government just closed its doors and walked away. Might even get downtown safe enough to go there, at least in daylight.

Yes, it is done successfully all over the country and should be done in Wicomico County. There should be a separate Countywide police force from the Sheriff's Office as well.

The fact that Ireton is a part time mayor and not much more than a figurehead, it is Pick and Chambers that take care of administrating the city's business with ireton's approvel.

Salisbury does need a city manager or a full time mayor and make cuts to administrative positions to fund more pay for a full time mayor or city manager.

Things just haven't been run to the benefit of the city taxpayers for so long that it is time to change the form of government, whether it be all country run or pay someone more qualified than the mayors we've had in the past and present.

Absolutely and go to countywide policing.

All county police if you please , the county responds to most of the city calls anyway.

Let the rest of the county that shops in Salisbury and drives through Salisbury pay for Salisbury.

Pull the plug and make it the county's problem.

No the County cops need to stay in the county and city need to do the city. The city cops do a already hard enough job with little support because all you idiots want to talk them down. Chief Duncan has done alot to make the officers moral improve and it shows... So no the county cops should not be patrolling the City period
