Strike Looms At East And Gulf Coast Ports

BOSTON (AP) - East Coast businesses are bracing for a possible walkout of 14,500 workers that could close 15 ports from Massachusetts to Texas.

The latest talks between shipping companies and dockworkers broke down Tuesday, less than two weeks before the contract expires Dec. 29. That's led to worries a strike is inevitable.

The National Retail Federation wrote to President Barack Obama this week to ask him to use "all means necessary" to head off a strike, which it fears could have catastrophic economic ripple effects.

Sounds to me like you boys, and I do mean boys, need to understand how the competitive free market system works, When the price gets too high, sellers go elsewhere. DUH, THEY HAVE SHIPS!

This might be really good! All the union workers at the ports do is bring in Chinese goods to the US anyway, all the while chanting "USA!" Without that crap littering our ports, maybe America can get back to work making our own goods!
