A Facebook Comment I Thought Worthy Of A Post

Why does the news keep saying schools are safer today than they used to be?? Years ago you didn't need locked doors and police officers in schools. Years ago you didn't have crazy people running up in the schools killing people. All the media is doing is giving the crazies more reason to prove them wrong. Schools are not safer, malls are not safer, no place is any safer. People are getting sicker.

This is a truism.

I had this thought today I thought I'd share with all of you.

Have you ever been to the new Fire Station 16 at night?

The only way you can access the building is to enter a "SAFE ROOM". The Safe Room doors lock behind you. Once you are in there you have to be buzzed in or out.

The room has bullet proof glass.
IF they can provide this for a Fire Department, why haven't they been installed in every School across America?

They do at Bennett.. you have to go through the office area and there is no access to the school without being escorted or buzzed in during schools hours. No there isn't bullet proof glass or sharpshooters on the roof---nor should there be

I dont want my kids going to a school where they are searched like criminals every day day after day... like the TSA.

If someone wants to gain access to a very large building--they will find a way inside--do you want to have all schools bricked up, no windows, bullet proof everything like the Secret Service does to the White House? That is not possible or logical

That last shooter was let in because his mom worked there at that school. Safe room would not have slowed him down.
Start controling sick people.

I agree society is getting more dernged. More pervs, more violent, more disturbed. We either prepare and be proactive or become sitting ducks.

Lots of the violent thugs are allowed in the schools because they're the students. Parents whose kids have been beaten up or assaulted need to be getting assault charges filed against those terrorizing the school and then file civil suits. Also the school system should have to publish statistics on fights, assaults, thefts, etc., minus the students' names.

Please bring God back to school! When I was there, God was ALWAYS watching over us! He knew what we were up to, and we acted accordingly!
PLEASE!

That was false information that was released.

They found no connection between her and the school.

At one time they also said he had no connection to the school. I don't know if that still stands or if it was changed too.

He attended there as a child and his mother worked there a handfull of times as a substitute teacher. He was't let in; he shot his way in yhrough the glass/window wall of the media center.

Parkside has glass exterior doors in every classroom. These doors need to be replaced.

You cannot fix crazy. We must lock these sick people away like we used to. We medicate and treat these sick individuals yet let them roam around society without ensuring they stay on their meds or continue treatment. Its time to clean our jails out. Set free the pot smokers and petty criminals. Lock these crazies up for all our good.

The greatest risk at a school comes from within the school. Bullies, fights in the halls, disruptions in the classroom, and now our new state superintendent wants those students to remain in the classroom because "they have a right to an education", well so do the students who are there to learn. If the parents of the "student who wants to learn" doesn't stand up for their child's rights then education doesn't have a chance.
