ANNAPOLIS, MD – TODAY, Governor Martin O’Malley will attend the Maryland State Education Association (MSEA) Convention in Ocean City where host an informal town hall discussion about the progress Maryland schools have made and the challenges that remain in the years ahead to build a world-class public education system for Maryland’s children. Before hosting the town hall, the Governor will deliver a keynote address before all convention attendees.
With the hard work and dedication of educators, students and parents, Maryland schools have been ranked number one in the nation four years in a row by Education Week Magazine. The O’Malley-Brown Administration has set a strategic goal to Improve Student Achievement and School, College and Career Readiness in Maryland by 25 percent by the End of 2015. The Governor will discuss progress on the Administration’s goals, and ways to improve conditions of learning so Maryland’s children can receive the quality public education they deserve to compete and win the future.
