I have yet to see anyone provide any evidence that there is wide spread voter fraud that can be solved by limiting access to voting by ID cards.
When someone can walk into Eric Holder's local district office and obtain his voter card, what more proof do you need?
How "wide spread" does it have to be? 10%? 20%? ANY voter fraud potential is a threat.

You are correct 10:55-voting is a right that is protected by the Constitution. That is all the more reason to protect it's sanctity and reserve it only for living American citizens and not illegal aliens, dead people and cartoon characters. I therefore find your argument invalid. If you haven't seen the evidence, your ignorance is by your own choice to listen to the state run media instead of credible independent news sources.
None of these is a constitutional right.
You should not need a government-issued ID into order to exercise your right.

I'm not asking for speculation... I'm asking for hard proof that voter fraud is SOOO rampant, that the only thing that will fix it is a voter ID card.
Fact is, there is no proof of it. One instance here or there is not evidence of a widespread conspiracy.
Fact is that voter ID cards only prevent people from actually being able to vote.

How about driving, flying? As early as the Articles of Confederation the Congress recognized freedom of movement (Article 4), though the right was thought to be so fundamental during the drafting of the Constitution as not needing explicit enumeration.

The Constitution is not a document that "assigns" rights. The Constitution is a document that starts with the fact that all rights are God given, and not to be infringed. It goes on to limit, or just prohibit government from stepping on our rights that belong to us. So, 1055, you are ignorant of what is actually in the Constitution. Look, read it sometime. My little pocket sized one (3x5 inches) is only 40 pages, including the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence! I mean, really! You've probably written more pages than that on the blog comments against the Documents you haven't even read! LOL!. What a dork...

ACLU Sues to Stop Michigan From Asking Voters If They Are Citizens

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is suing to stop Michigan from asking voters to confirm they are United States citizens. The group is suing Michigan Secretary of State Ruth Johnson, accusing her of using voter suppression tactics.
Johnson claims it’s just extra protection, telling a local radio station, “We have some new data that’s confirmed that we have as many as 4,000 non-citizens on our voter rolls … I don’t think this should be a partisan issue. If you’re not a citizen you should not be voting in federal elections. It’s against the law, the Constitution, and our American way.”
Fox News contributor Ellen Ratner and Rusty Humphries, a syndicated radio talk show host, debated the voter issue. Ratner argued, “The issue is, are they putting more stumbling blocks in the way when you go to register to vote and is this a way of slowing things down so that minorities, or people who are not as fluent in English and therefore sometimes vote more Democratic, will be suppressed to vote.”
Humphries said showing ID is “absolutely basic” and added, “the reason why they want to do it, is by checking yes or no, they’ve now made it so there’s an additional legal penalty. So you’ll be committing more of a felony and you can prove more if somebody goes and votes illegally.”
Ratner shot back at Humphries’ claim that it doesn’t take many votes to sway an election, debating that the numbers are minuscule and not even enough to swing the Gore v. Bush election. Humphries responded, “Ask Al Gore how much minuscule votes count.”

Never mind, found it myself. And I think it's a bunch of bull. Everyone should already have a photo id to begin with, and I don't think it's that expensive to obtain one. Just get a half bushel of crabs instead of a full bushel once and you have the money for an id.
Voting law opponents contend these laws disproportionately affect elderly, minority and low-income groups that tend to vote Democratic. Obtaining photo ID can be costly and burdensome, with even free state ID requiring documents like a birth certificate that can cost up to $25 in some places. According to a study from NYU's Brennan Center, 11 percent of voting-age citizens lack necessary photo ID while many people in rural areas have trouble accessing ID offices. During closing arguments in a recent case over Texas's voter ID law, a lawyer for the state brushed aside these obstacles as the "reality to life of choosing to live in that part of Texas."
Attorney General Eric Holder and others have compared the laws to a poll tax, in which Southern states during the Jim Crow era imposed voting fees, which discouraged the working class and poor, many of whom were minorities, from voting.
Given the sometimes costly steps required to obtain needed documents today, legal scholars argue that photo ID laws create a new "financial barrier to the ballot box."

I see nothing wrong with that.
IS this really a joke? How can you have HARD FACTUAL PROOF THAT IT IS RAMPANT UNTIL YOU TRY SOMETHING OTHER THAN WHAT THE CURRENT SITUATION IS? People are so stupid sometimes. How can we know how rampant it is until we do need ID to vote and see how many get turned away or busted?
In the news today, a state has found 80,000 (!) dead people still registered to vote. If anyone doesn't think voter fraud is happening, well, they are not paying attention. Willfully ignorant, as I've heard them described. i just want obama to answer ONE question --- how do you get to use the SSN of a dead man from Connecticutt, when you've never lived in Connecticutt? Explain that (with a straight face).
