Boy did this bring back some fond memories. I remember green stamps. Some 50 years ago I got my first typewriter with books of those stamps. Otherwise, I would never have had it. I also used that glue with the little slit on top. I loved gluing pictures, articles, etc.

I don't remember ever seeing the last item.

Oh to go back in time would be great.

Melodiously, "I got a brand new pair of roller skates..."

S & H green stamps store in Salisbury was where Pasco across from SU is now. I also remember the glue & roller skate key it has been a very long time since I've seen either one. Thanks Joe.

I had forgotten all about those glue bottles until I saw t his picture. I wonder if they even make that type of glue still. I remember using paste and also the rubber cement.

The best was the white paste! you could eat it and upset the teacher for the rest of the day.

Oh, my, yes, I do!

S&H Green Stamps - I still have the MADE IN THE USA Lamps Mama bought with them.

The bottle contains "musilage" glue.

And the skate key reminds me of my skinned knees!

Thanks for the memories, Joe.

This post reminds me of something I thought of the other day. Does anyone every call pants "slacks" anymore?

I remember the green stamps catalog. There was even a Piper Cub airplane you could buy for something like 10,000 books.

S & H Green Stamps also had an automobile in their catalog. It was a Ford, either a Fairlane or a Galaxy, and it was about 2,400 books.

I'm off to my 40th high school reunion in Spfld. IL next week! Dang right I remember! Our first skateboard was a steel skate screwed to the bottom of some 3/4" plywood. We learned to ride it down the block at Papa Dorsey's, cause he had a concrete driveway and sidewalk instead if bricks.

I remember the stamps I had the job of putting the stamps in the books. The best thing we ever got was a surprise large framed picture of "Blue Boy" for my father which he loved. Have no idea where it went after parents deaths.
