Actually, this is not an uncommon sight.

They don't look any different than the ones doing nothing any other day.

You say that as if we are supposed to condone it.

You will see more of that at car accident scenes when the Salisbury Fire Department hires it's 12 new firemen with that free money from Obama.

To 5:48-your comment speaks for itself in proving your stupidity. I don't need to say a thing.

So why do road crew workers need hardhats?
Are they afriad of falling meteors?

These are state workers.

You see, there are at least four of the workers doing the work,, Than we need to pay the other 4 or more to keep an eye out for idiots who are speeding and not paying attention when driving. The State workers are being safe!!!! Look around and see how many of you idiots are still holding the cell phone up to your stupid fat heads and can't see the truck with the flashing lights on it! I pass there everyday and see cars going over the 35 mph limit. They are keeping the other workers safe from you! Makes all the jokes you want.. in the end YOU are the stupid ones, and these guys get to go home to their families!

It looks like they got there early. I live down the street and they had it fixed in 5 hours. It looked like they were digging something up.
