The
commemoration of the War of 1812 continues with the opening of the
Star-Spangled Banner Trail, which allows families to learn a part of
American history and enjoy the great outdoors at the same time.
Several kiosks are popping up all around the state to serve as markers along the national historic trail.
"The
trail is a wonderful collection of sites significant to the Chesapeake
campaign during the War of 1812 200 years ago. There was a lot of action
up and down the Chesapeake (Bay)," said Cindy Chance of the National
Park Service.
