OCPD'S NEW CSI TEAM - TROOP 225

The Ocean City Police Department was visited by a special guest on Tuesday, March 13th, as the Ocean City/Berlin boy scouts marched into the Public Safety Building. Approximately eight members of troop 225 met with Pfc. Mike Levy and Pfc. Joe Zurla, to earn their finger printing merit badge.

In addition to learning how to “lift” a fingerprint, the Boy Scout group learned the history of fingerprinting, the difference in patterns and classifications of fingerprints and what it takes to positively identify a person using a fingerprint. Perhaps one of the most significant lessons was the two principals of fingerprinting, (1) fingerprints never change and (2) no two fingerprints are alike.

With a wealth of knowledge and an abundance of fun, it was hard to tell who had more fun….the Ocean City/Berlin boy scouts or Pfc. Levy and Pfc. Zurla! Thank you to troop 225 for visiting the PSB and for your active involvement in your police department and your community!
