Former Republican candidate Eric Bodenweiser has been ousted as chairman of the 37th District.
In a nearly unanimous Nov. 14 decision, Bodenweiser was removed.
Bodenweiser said he was surprised at the decision, which he said stemmed from “tongue-in-cheek” comments he made about the altercation between Sussex Sheriff Jeff Christopher and Sussex County Councilman Vance Phillips. Bodenweiser said he was using humor when he suggested the two men work out their differences behind closed doors.
