September 2, 2011 at approximately 9:16 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the intersection of US Rt. 50 and Beaglin Park Drive for the report of a multi vehicle collision. Upon arrival the officers found three (3) vehicles damaged as a result of the collision and four (2) subjects injured, two (2) adults and two (2) children. The first vehicle, a 1992 Dodge Dynasty, had been eastbound on Rt. 50 and was turning left onto Beaglin Park Drive when it was struck by vehicle # 2, a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe.
During the collision, the Chevrolet Tahoe spun in the roadway and struck the third vehicle, a 2007 Nissan Quest, causing superficial damage to the Nissan. Both the Dodge Dynasty and the Chevrolet Tahoe were extensively damaged and have been impounded pending the investigation of the accident. The Dodge Dynasty was operated by a 68 year old female from Parsonsburg, Maryland and was occupied by a two (2) year old female and a four (4) year old female who were in child safety seats in the rear seat of the vehicle.
The operator of the Dodge Dynasty was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center where she is listed in critical condition. The two children were transported to the Johns Hopkins Medical Center and are listed in serious condition. The operator and lone occupant of the Chevrolet Tahoe, a 63 year old male from Timonium, Maryland, was transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for non life threatening injuries. The operator and
lone occupant of the third vehicle, the Nissan Quest, was not injured.
The names of the individuals involved in the accident are not being released at this time and the accident is currently under investigation. Charges are pending the results of the investigation.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.

I hope those children come out of this ok - the "child safety seats" that I saw in the pictures of the accident are NOT appropriate for a 2 and 4 year old. They are booster seats with a removable backrest designed for older children. I have the same exact seats and my child didn't use them until she was 6 or 7. I hope the police cite this in their investigation.
Being that I was on the accident seen; the 2 year old was in a normal car seat appropriate for the age...not a booster seat! Please get the correct info before posting lies, especially in a situation like this!
Who was at fault? The dodge dynasty?
For your information, the 68 year old driver passed away today, the 2 year old was taken out of Pediatric ICU today and the 4 year old, was the deceased grandchild, who underwent surgery also today.
3:47 - You fail to address the 4 year old - the car seat that is pictured on the back of the Dodge is NOT appropriate for that age - PERIOD. Either way, there is negligence on someone's part for not having the proper restraints - END OF STORY.

Well it backfired this time.
And it's not just you doing it. Plenty of people got their collective noses in the air. If they walked outside while it was raining, they would drown.
I guess you better go take another look at that 'booster' seat.
I agree with anonymous 1:16. This woman was a daycare provider and the nicest woman you would ever hope to have the honor of meeting. She was up to all codes. A life was lost here how bout you having a little more respect for that.

Which codes are you talking about? 116 says the child seat was the wrong one. One of us is confused.
