LESS AMERICANS EMPLOYED TODAY THAN IN 2001

We only need to add 20 million jobs next month to get back to our long-term trend line. I’m sure the SAVIOR will fill us in on the details next week.
Today, the Labor Department reported that nonfarm payrolls (jobs) were unchanged in August. Today’s chart provides some perspective on the US job market. Note how the number of jobs steadily increased from 1961 to 2001 (top chart). During the last economic recovery (i.e. the end of 2001 to the end of 2007), job growth was unable to get back up to its long-term trend (first time since 1961). During the current cycle, nonfarm payrolls have pulled away from its 40-year trend (from 1961-2001) by a record amount (see bottom chart). In fact, the current number of US jobs is well below its 2001 peak.

I've been on this planet for 68 years , I've never seen anything so bad as the condition of our country.
Looking at a business I worked for many years , it was very successful with the proper leadership. I do blame Obama , he has led the country into a hole of mud. He has sold us out to the muslim world and given us lie after lie. It is beyond me why someone hasn't taken him for a nonreturnable ride. I don't understand why people don't see what he is doing , even if your black , it affects everyone. We cannot last another year like this , He was elected for the simple reason that he was black or at least half black.

Just a quick grammer correction - the title should read "Fewer Americans Employed..." not "Less Americans Employed".

People do care about that kind of thing particularly as use of proper grammar lends some degree of credibilty to the writer.

When the country shuts down, does it revert back to mexico?

1:56 did you not read the piece? That whole Bush tax cut and historically low rates have been a bust when it comes to job creation. And not the to say OBama is perfect or anything, but only a dummy really believes this recession started with Obama.

Fewer Americans - check your grammar.

Alot of folks are fed up and have decided to retire from their jobs.
The workforce and work environment is not like it use to be. So much change.

The Bush tax cuts prevented a terrible recession that would have happened as the result of the 911 attacks.
You're correct that the recession didn't start with Obama. The recessions started when Pelosi and Reid took over control of the congress after the 1996 elections. When the price of gas started going up and Pelosi recessed the house rather than vote on a bill to increase drilling. When Pelosi was basically attacking businesses.
Check your history. Look at the timeline of when things began to go sour. Pelosi and Reid played a huge role.
