Her increasingly forthright comments the last few days about leaning toward a presidential run have left no doubt that Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann smells blood in the campaign waters.
When ABC News first reported in January that Bachmann was seriously considering a White House bid, the news was generally treated as either a compelling media sideshow or a savvy fundraising head fake on Bachmann's part. After all, the idea that a third-term congresswoman with a light legislative record and a penchant for controversial statements could become a serious White House contender seemed unlikely at best.
Almost five months later -- and after would-be contenders like Mike Huckabee, Haley Barbour and John Thune decided to take a pass -- the notion of a serious Bachmann campaign doesn't seem so implausible anymore, especially in Iowa.
"Someone who excites the base is to be watched," Tim Albrecht, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad's communications director, said of Bachmann. "Someone who has a nationwide fundraising base is to be taken seriously. Someone who has both is a potent force who could be very successful."

If she decides to run, she had better not have anything near a skeleton in her closet. The communist left is scared to death of her and the aparachics in he media will attack her relentlessly.
Obama and George Sorros will have another meeting at the White House about this.
Obama is the biggest MF'r that has made a big mockery of the Presidency.
Republicans will never win this one. They have tied themselves to the Ryan plan which they already know is too radical. Now they are trying to shy away from it without admitting that it is a failure. Newt first. Now Mitt pitching his "own version" of a Ryan style plan. Oh, come on now Mitt. . .you don't like the Ryan plan. . .I thought you were a commie if you didn't kiss Paul Ryan's feet!? Its great fun to watch the Republican Party make fools of themselves. This Ryan joker is relatively young still. . .Newt has been around the block and KNOWS anyone who gets tied to the Ryan plan is doomed. Anyone. All you average folks who have been voting Republican all your life? How do you 55 year olds like them now taking your medicare away? And the medicare of your children? Fund your own care right? Fine I guess if you are rich already and will be getting all the tax breaks. Republicans are disgraceful.
Michelle will put a can of Whoop-Ass on Obama-Boy for the elctions; Landslide for Michelle and back to welfare Obama-Boy...
Bachman is the worst idea as a presidential candidate. Before the flames start flying, I AM a conservative. She IS everything that is wrong with career politicians. Do a youtube search for "Michele Bachmann Liar" and watch the vids. Also youtube "Michele Bachmann flunking history"....
She also argues that she is a teabagger, yet voted for and supports the Patriot Act... ideals diametrically opposed.
Shame really. Don't be fooled... she will say anything for votes. Not what we need as a leader... and an embarrassment to Conservatives.
Not only that... she is unelectable and will be torn to shreds by any candidate opposing her.
This fully illustrates the problem with our political system. If you don't like Obama, fine. Disagree with his policies, great. Your job is then to come up with the best policies based on hard-hitting analysis and find a candidate who can successfully turn policy into sound action.
Bachman, like many other pundits, simply spouts whatever sounds logical on the surface, doesn't do her homework, plays on partisan emotions, and is really just another celebrity. I don't want to see another Palin on tv claiming "gotcha journalism" after being asked "what books do you read?" The only way we are going to get the best policies to drive us in the right direction is by having both sides of the aisle come up with the best ideas based off the best minds.
